# RE3Remake
## Important / Read First
- **Typewriter teleports are disabled in RE3.** Progress through the game normally.
- **Do not switch save files**, as doing so may result in lost items.
- **Save often**, especially after boss fights.
- After completing a randomizer run, **restart the game** before starting another one.
---
## Options Page
All configuration for this world is handled through the **Player Options** page.
---
## Randomization Overview
This world randomizes the majority of **items, weapons, and keys** found throughout the game.
Players may be required to progress using unfamiliar equipment compared to a standard playthrough.
The optional **Add Files as Locations** setting adds 52 collectible
documents as checks. Examining a physical document sends its check without
keeping that document; randomized File items received from the multiworld
are added directly to the pause-menu Files list. Sewers and Hospital map
pickups are not included.
The victory condition is to **stop Nikolai on the NEST Rooftop**.
To reach this point, players must locate progression items scattered throughout, advance through the story and defeat Nemesis encounters along the way.
---
## Item Reception
When the player receives an item, a notification will appear in the **upper-left corner of the screen**.
The exact wording of this message may differ depending on whether the player is within range of an item box.
---
## Missable Locations
Due to the structure of the game, there are points of no return. Progressing past these points may cause certain locations — and the items within them — to become inaccessible.
- When **Allow Missable Locations** is set to **false**, progression items will not be placed in missable locations. These locations may still contain useful items, junk, or traps.
- When **Allow Missable Locations** is set to **true**, progression items *can* appear in missable locations. Enable this setting at your own risk as skipping items can result in having to restart from an earlier save.
---
## DLC Progression Items (Bolt Cutters / Lock Pick)
Use of the early-access DLC **Bolt Cutters** and **Lock Pick** is discouraged.
When enabled, these items significantly reduce backtracking and may bypass intended progression.
They can be disabled through Steam’s **DLC Manager**.
- On other platforms (GamePass, GoG etc), disabling these items may require platform-specific steps.
- The **in-game purchasable** versions of these items cannot be disabled. Removing them requires deleting save data.
