Supermarket Simulator
What does randomization do to this game?
The following elements are randomized and locked behind Archipelago items:
- Product Licenses: Access to buy and sell specific item categories in your store.
- Store Sections: Physical expansion rooms of your supermarket.
- Furniture: All Furnitures like Shelves, fridges, freezers, and checkout counters (if Furniture Locks is enabled).
- Staff: Cashiers, restockers, janitors, security guards, and customer helpers.
- Storage Room Upgrades: Expanding your storage room.
- Vehicles: Personal transport for faster restocking.
- Loan Authorizations: Credit line unlock permits (if Loan Locks is enabled).
What is the goal when randomized?
You can choose between three goals in your settings:
- Level: Reach the configured maximum store level.
- Days: Complete the configured number of operating days.
- All Licenses: Collect every product license available in the item pool (base game + active DLCs).
What counts as a location check?
Completing store days, reaching store level milestones (starting at Level 2), purchasing storage room upgrades, buying section expansions, purchasing received product licenses at the store computer (Purchase License X), completing customer checkouts (Customer Checkout X), and reaching money milestones (if enabled) all act as checks and send items to other players in the multiworld.
What items can I receive?
In addition to the locked game elements above, you may also receive:
- Money Boost: A cash bonus deposited directly into your store account.
- XP Boost: Bonus store experience to accelerate level progression.
- Black Friday Event: A surprise customer rush floods your store.
What are traps?
If traps are enabled, you may receive the following negative events:
- Tax Audit: A fine deducted from your bank account.
- Dust Storm: Your store window is instantly covered in dust.
- Power Outage: The store lights go out for a period of time.
- Trash Flood: A wave of garbage spawns on your store floor.
- Expired Products: Products on a random display shelf are instantly removed.
- Robbery: A group of shoplifters spawns.
Balance & Gameplay Options
You can configure several options in your settings to customize and balance your playthrough:
- Exclude Licenses: Exclude specific product licenses by name from the "All Licenses" victory goal. These licenses will still be in the item pool as useful items but are not required for victory.
- Customer Checkout Locations & Chance: Configure how many customer checkout checks exist in the multiworld (0–10000, default 100) and the percentage chance per checked-out customer to trigger a check (1–100%, default 5%).
- Checkout Income Multiplier: Multiply checkout payouts received at cash registers/self-checkouts (from 10% to 1000%). Also mutliplies money boosts.
- Starting Cash: Customize how much money you start with in a new save game (from $10 to $10,000).
- Free Customizables: Toggle to make all visual shop upgrades (wall paint, floor tiles, store rename, door placement, entrance variants) cost $0 since they do not affect progression.
